US MARKET TUMBLED

Stocks tumbled Thursday, after a worse-than-expected jobs report hammered hopes that the economy is close to stabilizing. The Dow Jones industrial average lost 2.6% (-223.3 pts, close 8,280.7). The Nasdaq lost 2.7% (-49.2 pts, close 1,796.5) and the S&P 500 index lost 2.9% (-26.9 pts, close 896.4). In currency trading, the dollar fell versus the euro and gained against the yen. U.S. light crude oil for August delivery fell 58 cents to settle at US$69.31 a barrel on the New York
